Please be sure that as you are beginning your college preparation that you are using the correct FAFSA website. The FAFSA is free to complete and submit. If you are being asked for money, you are on the wrong site. FAFSA for the 19-20 school year opens October 1. You will need your 2017 tax information and a FSA ID. Remember, all college students must do a FASFA every year, not just prior to beginning college.

Your FSA ID can be used each year to electronically apply for federal student aid and to access your Federal Student Aid records online. If you receive a FSA ID, you agree not to share it with anyone. Your FSA ID serves as your electronic signature and provides access to your personal records, so you should never give it to anyone, including commercial services that offer to help you complete your FAFSA. Be sure to keep you FSA ID in a safe place. Click here to apply for your FSA ID. Remember, your parents need their own FSA ID. If they already have one from their own college or an older siblings account they will use the same one.
