COMMUNICATION TO PARENTS OF COVID-19 POSITIVE CASES

In the likely event that a test-confirmed positive case of COVID-19 occurs on a campus, and in an effort to be completely transparent, Marion ISD will send a courtesy letter home via School Messenger to all families in the school. After careful review, if your student was deemed to be in in close contact with a COVID-19 positive case, you will receive a phone call from a school administrator. If you not contacted, it was determined in conjunction with a DSHS epidemiologist that your student did not come in close contact with the COVID-19 positive case. Any campus with a positive case will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.

As a reminder, Marion ISD has ongoing numerous health and safety measures in place, such as, all students/employees wear face coverings, social distancing when feasible, and active hand sanitation and hand washing protocols. Additionally, all classrooms, hallways, restrooms and common areas are cleaned and sanitized daily and high touch surfaces are disinfected several times throughout the school day. The safety of our students and staff is our number one priority.
